Dubai has won the bid to host the 12th World Chambers Congress (WCC) in 2021, which will see the participation of 14,000 chambers of commerce from 100 countries.

The United Arab Emirates is easing rules on the foreign ownership of companies as the country seeks to attract investment and boost an economy battered by lower oil prices. Under the new rules, non-Emiratis will be able to control a company outright, and specialists in medical, scientific, research and technical fields as well as top students will be able to get a residency of up to 10 years.

The UAE Cabinet has decided to refund a 5 per cent value added tax for institutions working in the exhibitions and conferences sector. Facilities involved with organising events have the right to refund the tax levied of providing these services, according to state news agency WAM.

An agreement was signed earlier in mid-May to attract innovation startup companies in Italy from the hub 012factory, an Italian excellence in the innovative entrepreneurial academy. During the day, many startups attended the event and presented their pitch being member of the 012factory, it was followed by meetings with institutions and enterprises supporting the academy.
